Be a Consultant

Volunteer for short-term projects. Make a long-term impact. Now, more than ever, Seed companies can benefit from your expertise as they navigate through the challenges and opportunities presented by the global pandemic.

From Home or Office

To maximize Seed’s impact, we match Seed Transformation Program companies and their leaders with Seed consultants — experienced business professionals — who advise remotely on short-term projects. Whether your strengths are in marketing and operations or in strategy and finance, your expertise can make all the difference.

Matching Needs with Skills

Consultants develop customized and creative business solutions to address Seed Transformation Program participants’ specific needs. Once admitted to the Seed Consulting Program, you’ll be invited to apply to open projects that match your interests and skillsets. Projects become available throughout the year. Past consulting projects have included:

  • Developing a contingency plan for a software company
  • Assisting a food and beverage company with financial projections and access to financing
  • Creating a communications strategy for a water-bottling company
  • Supporting a fast-growing healthcare provider with human resources

Time Commitment

Depending on your availability as well as project needs, engagements may range from one to six months, with ongoing involvement. Currently, the average time commitment per consultant is two to three hours a week, with email and/or video calls serving as the primary modes of communication.
