Why were you interested in participating in the SIE?

SIE appealed to me because I had a lot of entrepreneurial ambition but lacked the business knowledge and skills necessary to launch a venture.  And beyond entrepreneurship, SIE offered solid training on core business disciplines, which I felt would be valuable in more traditional business settings in addition to the entrepreneurial field.

Were your expectations for the program met?

My expectations for the program were met and exceeded.  The program was extremely rigorous, so by the end of the four weeks I felt like I had acquired a whole new perspective with wide breadth and surprising depth.  The faculty were very committed to the program, and managed to impart a great deal of knowledge and analytical skills in a very limited period of time.

What are you doing now?

I’ve decided to begin my career by building a solid foundation in legal practice.  I am working as an associate at the international law firm Latham & Watkins, in Washington DC.  I help represent corporate clients on litigation and transactional matters.

How will your experience in the SIE help you in future endeavors?

My SIE experience gave me the mindset of an entrepreneur.  Between the classes, lectures, and group project, I learned critical lessons that any young entrepreneur should have under his/her belt before launching a venture.  Also, I made a number of really good friends and contacts – brilliant, ambitious colleagues who will be at the top of my list when it comes to forming an entrepreneurial team.

In your opinion, what was the most valuable aspect of the SIE?

It’s really tough to isolate a particular aspect of SIE as most valuable, because each of the program’s elements work together to produce an excellent, balanced experience.  If I had to choose one aspect, I would say that the class time – learning from top notch faculty and diverse and thoughtful classmates – was the highlight.
