Application Materials
A complete application will contain the following:
- Online application, including a series of short essays.
- Application fee - $40
- Two letters of recommendation. One letter must be from someone who has taught you in the classroom. The second letter may come from another professor, faculty advisor, or from someone who has supervised you in a work setting. These should be from individuals who have been directly responsible for evaluating your academic or work performance and potential.
- Official transcripts from your current graduate institution. Official records are original documents issued by the institution that bear its official stamp as well as the signature of the appropriate official. A photocopy is generally not acceptable, unless it is properly certified by an academic or government official who has personally compared the original with the photocopy and verified that it is a true copy of the original. If transcripts do not show a 4.0 grade scale equivalency, an assessment scale must be submitted as well.
Additional materials for Non-Stanford international students:
If English is not your native language, you must submit:
- proof of English proficiency. This may be in the form of an adequate TOEFL score dated within the last 24 months, a degree from an American high school, college or university, or a letter from a college or university that you are currently attended stating you have a full course load and that English is the primary mode of instruction.
Cancellation Policy
The application and visa processing fees are non-refundable. Out of consideration for those on the waiting list and due to the fact that we send materials in advance, we have established the following cancellation policy for non-Stanford students:
- Before April 30, 2010 the tuition balance may be refunded, minus a $1500 cancellation fee.
- No refund if cancellation is after April 30, 2010.
- Nonpayment of fee does not constitute cancellation. Written notification is required.
