Campus life
Where will I live during the program?
Participants will reside in Stanford University housing and have access to the wide variety of resources available on campus. Stanford’s close proximity and deep ties to Silicon Valley, California, provide an exceptional opportunity to explore this hub of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The beautiful San Francisco Bay Area offers a wealth of cultural and recreational activities all within a short drive, making Stanford the perfect setting for a summer program. And the weather couldn’t be better.
What should I wear?
Attire for the program is business casual, which allows our participants to feel comfortable during the program while projecting a professional image to the faculty and coporate guests. A few events will require more formal attire, where you should dress as if you were being interviewed. For evenings and weekends you may want to bring more casual clothing (shorts, jeans, t-shirts, etc.). While Stanford enjoys a Mediterranean-type climate, San Francisco can be foggy and chilly so bring a sweater or jacket and dress in layers.
What is there to do on campus?
Lots! There is always a flurry of activity on the Stanford campus. Whether you are interested in theater, sports, lectures, or student activities, you will find a wide variety of options to pique your interest. You can check out Stanford daily events at events.stanford.edu
As a Summer Institute for General Management participant, do I have access to other GSB resources?
While attending the program, participants will have access to some, not all, of the GSB resources. Participants will have access to the Career Management Center and Management Communication Program. Participants can opt to attend communication, career planning, and resume writing workshops.
Participants also have access to many resources on the Stanford campus — from world-class athletic facilities to summer arts performances. |
