Lynn Odland
Chief Executive Officer, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Australia

Lynn Odland joined Deloitte in the U.S. and built a very successful career over a period of 36 years. He worked in San Francisco as Deloitte's Western Region managing partner. The territory which he managed serviced a population of 44 million and covered a vast area including California, Oregon, Washington State, Hawaii, Alaska, Idaho, and Nevada. With over 300 partners and 3,300 staff, Odland demonstrated the ability to run a significant operation with a wide geographical spread.

His previous Deloitte positions included managing partner of the Pacific Region and partner-in-charge of the San Francisco office 1989 to 1995, member of the firm's board of directors from 1985 to 1988, area managing partner for a six state area from 1985 to 1989, and partner-in-charge of the Minneapolis office from 1984 to 1989.

Odland's ability to service and win clients was highly regarded and his client portfolio was testimony to this. His portfolio comprised a number of multinational clients including Honeywell, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Clorox, Boeing and Kaiser Permanente—largest HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) in the world.

He served on numerous boards of directors, including the Harvard Business School, Northern California Alumni Association Board; Harvard Business School Alumni Board; Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley; United Way; Yosemite National Park Yosemite Fund; and the California State Chamber of Commerce.

Lynn Odland took over as CEO of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu's Australian operations on October 1, 1997, his first permanent posting outside the US.
