We knew it would be very difficult for both of us to be accepted in the Sloan Program, but fortunately it happened. This year has been the best experience we ever had. We can help and support each other, share our learning and better understand the difficulties we both have to face. We will keep this great learning experience and the friends we made here for the rest of our lives.
Two years ago, Marcelo was selected by his company to come fully sponsored to the United States in order to get a business masters degree. Regina, also having a very successful career, thought it would be a great opportunity for her to invest in a similar program. At that time, to come together to Stanford seemed just a dream.
Then the marathon started. First Regina needed to get her company sponsorship. Simultaneously, we applied to the best schools. We had to deal with the GMAT and TOEFL, and prepare the applications while working. The most difficult, however, was the fact that we needed to be accepted in schools that were (at least) close to each other, so that it would be feasible for both of us to come.
The outcome was the best possible. Here we are, the first couple accepted simultaneously in the Sloan Program.
