Founder, Managing Partner, and Chief Investment Officer, New Amsterdam Partners LLC

Michelle Clayman, a chartered financial analyst, is founder, managing partner, and chief information officer of New Amsterdam Partners LLC, an institutional money management firm in New York.

Michelle has been published in the Financial Analysts Journal, The Finance Professionals’ Post, and The Journal of Investing, and is a co-editor of Corporate Finance: A Practical Approach (Wiley 2008). She is a member of the board of directors of the Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance, as well as a past president of the Society of Quantitative Analysts.

An active volunteer in her community, Michelle is board chairwoman of the Girl Scouts of Greater New York. She is a member of the board of trustees of Stanford University and chair of the advisory council of the Clayman Institute for Gender Research. She is a member of the Dean’s Council at Harvard Divinity School and sits on the board of the Bard Music Festival.

Michelle has a degree in philosophy, politics, and economics from Oxford University (BA, MA [Oxon]) and received her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
