David was president and CEO of EastGroup Properties from 1997 to 2015, when he retired and became its chairman of the board. EastGroup is a NYSE traded real estate investment trust that owns over 44 million square feet of warehouse/industrial properties in the major markets of the southeast and southwest. David was also on the board of directors of Trustmark National Bank based in Jackson, Mississippi, from 2007 to 2016 and was an officer in the US Army with service in Vietnam.
David was a reunion committee member, class panelist, and fundraiser for his 45th reunion. He also played a leadership role in co-creating the new Class of ’72 Veterans Scholarship Fund that recognizes the many veterans in his class. David currently is a director and treasurer of the Teton Raptor Center in Wilson, Wyoming.
David and his wife, Missy, have two daughters and two granddaughters and a step-grandson. His older daughter is a Stanford undergraduate Class of ’98 alumna and is involved with both the Stanford Women’s Association in Denver and fundraising for her class. David and Missy are both originally from Columbus, Ohio, and are now residents of Jackson, Wyoming, with a second home in Montecito, California.
