Skip is a managing director in the Little Rock headquarters of Stephens Inc. Skip joined Stephens upon graduation from the GSB in 1985. He has been active in all aspects of healthcare and life sciences investment banking. His practice is active in M&A and capital markets transactions. He has also initiated a number of Stephens’ direct investments and has represented Stephens on several boards.
Skip has been active as 1985 class agent in all recent BSF “Our Annual Gift” campaigns, as well as most reunion gift fundraising initiatives for the Class of 1985. In 2014, Skip joined the Stanford Alumni Association and has also been active as a Stanford OVAL undergraduate admissions interviewer.
A native of Arkansas, Skip graduated from Loyola University, New Orleans, and had practiced as a CPA before attending the GSB. He has also been active as a Boy Scout (BSA) leader for many years, and is an active Leave No Trace Master Educator. Skip has also led an annual Christmas card sale that has raised over $200,000 for the Scouting programs of Little Rock’s St. Paul United Methodist Church since 2000.
His wife, Susan Day, is a native of North Carolina who graduated from East Carolina University and became a life science researcher. Later, she worked as a senior hospital sales representative with Merck. Susan is now the lead docent for the Arkansas Arts Center.
Susan and Skip have one son, Colin Clemmons, who is a 2018 Stanford computer science engineering graduate at WhatsApp in Menlo Park.
