Social Management Immersion Fund

Summer is a critical time to explore a social impact career, develop credibility in a new industry or focus area, and gain expertise in a particular functional area. The Social Management Immersion Fund enables students to make the most of their summer experience.

SMIF provides financial support to MBA students who secure summer internships with nonprofits, government agencies, and social-purpose businesses, including social ventures and impact funds. SMIF fellows bring critical management skills to organizations addressing important social and environmental issues; in return, they get hands-on experience working in relevant fields. Fellowship stipends approximate students’ median summer salaries in the private sector.

Since its inception, SMIF has funded more than 800 fellows working with over 450 organizations around the world.
