Joe is a social impact entrepreneur who works to deliver fun and effective educational experiences to all learners. He began his career as a Teach For America corps member and taught global history for four years in the South Bronx, New York. Disenchanted by the resources available for history teachers, he later co-founded and served as CEO of an educational games and technology company. Joe joined Democracy Prep Public Schools in 2013 to apply his knowledge of high schools, civics, and startups to its national expansion. He played a key role in launching several high schools and orchestrating a school turnaround. Joe is the founder of the Game-Based Learning NYC meetup group, a professional learning community. He also serves on the board of creative content agency Apostrophe 3 and has consulted for the Council on Foreign Relations.
