Luke was commissioned as a United States Army officer in 2002 after graduating from Xavier University. He has served for the past 14 years as an aviation officer and a helicopter pilot in various units where he supervised and directed operations to support a wide range of capabilities under express direction of the United States Army. He has extensive overseas experience and regularly integrated in both conventional and special operation forces in the conduct of operations. Most recently he was a commander responsible for planning, coordination, and supervision of aviation operations to support United States Army requirements. He led pilots and mechanics to conduct research and development flights on several light and medium lift aircraft and was responsible for over US $40 million worth of aviation equipment.
