Before earning his MPA, Asset worked as an advisor to Almaty’s mayor on innovation and urban development. He identified and supported over 200 innovative projects and startups as part of Central Asia’s first “smart city” project. He also coordinated the design and commissioning of five major public spaces. Previously, Asset held leadership roles with the organizing committee of the 2017 Almaty Winter Universiade, in the Nur Otan political party, at the Kazakh government’s US $100 million scholarship fund, and in the administration of the Kazakh president. He initiated and led many community service projects, such as the first TEDx event in Astana, Kazakhstan; the first collection of Kazakh business cases; and an international forum with the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community.
