Mehmet has two decades of experience in C-level and senior management roles in management consulting and private equity sectors specializing in a number of different industries such as real estate, mining, services, theatrical distribution, and energy. He was part of the team that raised and managed Turkey’s first private equity fund, AIG Blue Voyage Fund. Most recently, Mehmet and a partner launched Berggruen Holdings’ operations in Turkey with a mandate to invest in all asset classes from various sectors and from startups to on-going businesses. As such, he has developed a portfolio of on-going and exited concerns in various sectors such as real estate, renewables, mining, and services. Mehmet launched the first independent movie festival of Turkey, in Istanbul, in 2002. He also produced the U.S.-Turkish co-production, “Crude,” which won several prizes including the best narrative feature award at the LA Film Festival. His latest project as a producer is the first Turkish project admitted to Sundance Screenwriters Lab, during 2019.
