Monishika, a specialist dental surgeon, is passionate about using technology to solve problems. At Viz.ai, a San Francisco-based startup applying artificial intelligence to medical imaging, she built eight large hospital partnerships from scratch. She collaborated with radiologists and engineers to develop an annotation platform and a doctor-facing product. The third hire on Viz.ai’s team, she led the scale-up from zero to US $9.6 million in funding and helped develop a triage tool to detect strokes, the first such product to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Previously, she spearheaded the adoption of technology such as mobile health records at a large chain of dental clinics handling 12,000 patient visits a year. She was also named among the top 10 endodontists-in-training in India.
