Richard has spent 10 years developing solutions for the performing arts, most recently as associate director of artistic planning at the San Francisco Symphony. Tasked with cultivating new audiences for orchestral music, he created original concert programs across a variety of genres. Key among his achievements at the symphony was the launch of the SoundBox series, a unique musical laboratory for testing new concepts in performance design and technology. Previously, Richard honed his skills in artistic planning at the New York Philharmonic, producing events ranging from contemporary music showcases to televised gala concerts. He began his career in artist management, working first on behalf of classical musicians, and then on the management team for Colombian artist Shakira.
