Tom came to Stanford GSB from London with the intention of remaining at the forefront of the wider energy industry. A petroleum engineer by background, he most recently led the technical, strategy, and operational teams for the United Kingdom’s largest onshore oil and gas producer, IGas Energy. Tom was responsible for four large acquisitions and divestments that increased the value of the company’s assets by over 300%. Additionally, he advised the U.K. government in Westminster on regulation and energy policy. Tom previously spent almost a decade delivering a range of multibillion-dollar projects for New York-based Hess. In 2008, he was the first dedicated engineer tasked with enhancing the production of shale oil from North Dakota’s Bakken region during a time of unprecedented activity.
