Valentin most recently ran a retail division for KoronaPay, a payment system from the Center of Financial Technologies that offers financial services to the public in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Eastern Europe. Services include money transfers, loan payments, utility payments, prepaid cards, and many more. Valentin, who joined KoronaPay in 2005, helped it grow from a small startup to the largest player in the region, with a market share of more than 70 percent. During his tenure with the company, Valentin developed partner networks, launched products, and set up cooperative agreements with international payment systems. In 2009, he started working on providing KoronaPay services through retail networks; in seven years, he raised this channel’s annual turnover from $0 to $6 billion.
