Introduction to Diversity in Doctoral Education and Scholarship (IDDEAS)

The IDDEAS @ Berkeley event co-hosted by Stanford GSB and Berkeley Haas is a two-day program for undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds interested in research and academia.

This immersion program held on May 16-17, 2019 seeks to attract a diverse group of promising undergraduate students and introduce them to business research at the doctoral level. The goal of this program is to support and encourage student and faculty diversity. Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about doctoral-level research.
  • Gain advice about graduate school opportunities and insights on the application process.
  • Discuss academic careers in research and teaching.

Ideal candidates for IDDEAS Scholars are current college sophomores, juniors, or seniors with strong quantitative skills and academic records. Candidates must provide a strong academic recommendation from an advisor or faculty member knowledgeable about their experience or interest in research and/or teaching.

Travel and accommodations will be provided for participants.
