Conference Tackles Technology’s Role in Disrupting the Healthcare System
With healthcare spending exceeding 18 percent of GDP and 30 cents of every healthcare dollar lost to waste, the time was ripe to examine health information technology and its potential to streamline, improve, and perhaps transform the current system. This potential, and its implications for payers, patients, providers, and healthcare innovators, was the subject of the 2013 Healthcare Innovation Summit, which took place on April 17 before a sold-out audience at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB).
