Alina Pfrang
Alina is a Lazear-Liang Postdoctoral Scholar at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Stanford Initiative for Business, Taxation, and Society. Her research examines how tax policy influences firm behavior, with a focus on compliance, avoidance, and real economic responses to taxation. Current projects study payroll tax compliance among small firms, the effects of environmental taxes on economic activity and emissions, and the impact of international and indirect taxes on firms’ cross-border decisions. Alina conducted research stays at the University of Texas at Austin and twice at the University of Iowa, where she also taught a master’s course in Taxes and Business Strategy, before joining Stanford, she received her PhD from the University of Mannheim.
