Chao Qin is a postdoctoral scholar at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he works with Guido Imbens, Stefan Wager, and Kuang Xu, and collaborates with Ramesh Johari and Airbnb. Chao’s research lies at the interface of sequential decision-making under uncertainty and statistical machine learning, with a focus on sequential design of experiments, multi-armed bandits, reinforcement learning, and causal inference—emphasizing solutions to real-world challenges. Outside academia, he worked at Google DeepMind, Scale AI, Amazon Web Services AI Lab, and Adobe Research. Chao earned his PhD in Decision, Risk, and Operations from Columbia Business School.
