Huan is a cultural psychologist whose research examines the interplay between culture and interpersonal trust. As a postdoctoral scholar in the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford Center on Longevity, Huan’s work focuses on the intergenerational domain, examining how cultural beliefs, values and expectations are transmitted across generations and how these transmissions contribute to trust and cooperative outcomes. He examines these questions using large-scale surveys and experimental methods. Originally from Xi’an, China, Huan earned his BS in Cognitive Neuroscience from Simon Fraser University in Canada. He received his PhD in Psychology from Stanford University, where he studied how cultural expectations shaped interpersonal trust and its underlying motivational processes through behavioral and neuroimaging methods.
