Bio
Prasad’s expertise is in the science and practice of helping people and organizations grow and scale. He is particularly known for his work at Google where he founded its People Analytics team and led widely known research initiatives including Project Oxygen and Project Aristotle to enable great managers and teams. Prasad expanded his role in People Operations (as Google’s HR function was called) to also lead compensation, benefits and performance management globally. He helped shape Google’s approach to attracting, developing and retaining talent, and worked closely with the management team and the board of directors to grow the workforce ten-fold over his tenure.
Later, Prasad was Vice President, Digital Work Experience in Google Workspace. Prasad’s focus was on making the experience of digital work productive, sustainable, healthy and inclusive for the billions of users of Google Workspace products (including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Meet).
Currently, Prasad serves as an independent advisor to companies including OpenAI, Grab, Roblox and Snowflake on people and culture. He also advises fast-growing AI startups in HR including Valence and Cascade. Prasad co-teaches an MBA course at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business on AI and the future of work that helps students form startup ideas.
Before joining Google, Prasad was Vice President of workforce analytics at Capital One. Earlier, he was a consultant with McKinsey & Company. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar, and currently serves on the advisory board for executive education. He also has a Master’s degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University and a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from IIT, Chennai, India.
