Sheila has written dozens of cases for the GSB, first in the Case Writing Office and now at GHCES. 

Before joining Stanford, Sheila spent many years living and working in China and remains a lifelong student of its history, culture, and current affairs.  She wrote The Little Red Book of China Business; co-authored three books about classical music in China with her husband, the conductor Jindong Cai; and penned scores of articles on topics ranging from Chinese opera to cricket fighting for publications including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.  She speaks Chinese and visits China whenever she can. 

When Sheila is not writing, she hosts family and friends at home, attends concerts, operas, and art shows, and runs in Central Park.
