Startups measure success in different ways. For Ian Cinnamon, victory was clear the first time his company’s technology prevented an illegal firearm from sliding through security at an international airport.

It took years of code and commitment to get there, but 30 million checked bags later, his mission to prevent even “one more person from being shot in a horrific act of violence” has become reality.
