Indoor Environmental Quality
A connection to the outdoors from inside buildings is everywhere at the Knight Management Center. Whether rooms that open directly to a terrace, large windows (particulary in the classrooms), and/or skylights in all but one building, the natural environment is emphasized and brought into each building in a unique way.
Sliding glass doors, such as the Nanawall system at the Arbuckle Dining Pavilion, are utilized to eliminate barriers from inside to out, reinforcing this indoor/outdoor connection.
These design features help improve overall environmental quality. In addition, more than 90% of the buildlng occupants have views directly to the outdoors and 80% of spaces benefit from daylight. A sophisticated Building Management System enables us to adjust temperatures by room.
