Gene Sykes is a managing director of Goldman, Sachs & Co. He has extensive experience
in mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions as well as private-equity investments
in the technology, media, telecommunications, health care, aerospace, and a number of
other industries.
Mr. Sykes received an AB degree from Harvard College in 1980 and an MBA degree from
the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1984.
Mr. Sykes is the chair of the board of trustees of the California chapter of The Nature
Conservancy and a board member of the National Parks Conservation Association.
He is also the chair of the board of the St. Matthew’s Parish School.
Mr. Sykes was born and raised in Southern California, where he resides with his wife,
Tracy, and four children.
