Yoël Zaoui is the cofounder of Zaoui & Co., a firm that focuses on advising companies, shareholders, and families on strategic, mergers and acquisitions, financial, corporate, and investment issues and decisions.
Mr. Zaoui has had a 24-year career at Goldman Sachs in New York and London, from 1988 to 2012. He was a pioneer in developing the firm’s investment banking business in Europe. He became a partner in 1998 and successively held the positions of head of mergers and acquisitions for Europe, head of investment banking for Europe, and co-head of global mergers and acquisitions. From 2008 to his retirement in 2012, he was a member of the firm’s management committee.
Mr. Zaoui received a diplôme from École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in 1982, a Diplôme d'Études Approfondies (DEA) in finance from Paris-Dauphine University in 1983, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1988. He is a French national and has lived in Italy, France, and the United States. He currently resides in London.
