Head of Investment Banking Division for Europe, Middle East and Africa
Goldman Sachs
Yoël Zaoui has been head of Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa since 2004. He is a member of the firm’s management committee. He joined the firm in 1988 in mergers and acquisitions in New York and moved to London in 1989. Mr. Zaoui has spent most of his career in M & A and has been instrumental in developing Goldman Sachs’ investment banking business in Europe over the last 20 years. He became a partner in 1998.
Mr. Zaoui received a diplôme from École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in 1982, a Diplôme d’Études Approfondies (DEA) in finance from Paris Dauphine University in 1983, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1988. He was born in Morocco and has lived in Italy, France, the United States, and England. He is a French national.
