MBA Communication Programs
Management requires effective communication to succeed. The GSB provides courses, coaching, and tailored programs, to help students develop their communication skills and flourish professionally.
Students have the greatest opportunity to master effective communication by taking communication courses. Through sustained study and practice, students build the competencies necessary to be an effective communicator throughout their career.
The GSB offers many communication courses taught by lecturers with years of private sector experience in the field. The flagship course, Strategic Communication, helps students execute communication strategies across a variety of business settings. Electives are offered on topics including political and scholarly communication, winning writing, reputation management, and crucial conversations.
Communication Coaches offer tailored coaching to ensure students succeed in business. All incoming students are assigned a coach through the MBA Program Communication Learning Group during their first quarter to facilitate effective communication in MBA courses. Coaching focuses on business writing and presentation. Students develop and execute a learning plan to speak effectively and influence others in both academic and professional settings.
Studio on Demand delivers additional one-on-one coaching to help students overcome fear of public speaking, prepare for presentations, and practice both verbal and non-verbal delivery techniques.
LOWKeynotes, one of GSB’s most popular programs, provides students a leadership communication opportunity to develop and practice a nine-minute high stakes presentation on an idea they believe could change Lives, Organizations and the World. Watch previous LOWKeynotes here.
Expert workshops on communication topics provide specialized skills throughout the year. Workshop topics range from anxiety management to speaking effectively in meetings. Workshops are hosted by experts in their field, ensuring students walk away with unparalleled knowledge.
