Maria S. Eitel

President, Nike Foundation
Vice President, Nike Inc.

Maria Eitel is founding president of the Nike Foundation, where she works to unleash
the girl effect, the powerful social and economic change brought about when girls have
opportunity. Ms. Eitel leads the foundation’s efforts to get girls on the global agenda
and drive resources to them.

Prior to leading the foundation, Ms. Eitel served as Nike Inc.’s first vice president
of corporate responsibility, working on the development and implementation of Nike’s
first corporate responsibility agenda. Formerly, she served in the White House and
worked at Microsoft Corporation, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and MCI
Communications Corp. in directing communications and initiatives. Her early career
was as a reporter and producer in commercial and public broadcasting.

She has a BS from McGill University and an MSFS from Georgetown University. She
completed the Stanford Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business
in 2001.

Ms. Eitel serves on boards, committees, and advisory councils of organizations including
the Millennium Promise, Lakeside School in Seattle, Young Presidents Organization
International, and the Acumen Fund. She is a regular speaker at local, national, and global
forums on corporate responsibility, governance, human and labor rights, sustainable
development, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurism.

Ms. Eitel enjoys hiking, painting, photography, and spending time with her family.
