Founding Partner
Alatus SA
Antoine Firmenich is a founding partner with Richard Vogel of Alatus SA, a European based value investment advisory firm, originally created to coordinate personal and family investments. At the request of a number of multigenerational business families and global investors wishing to gain deeper insights and exposure to Europe, Dr. Firmenich recently opened the partnership to a select group of external capital partners.
Dr. Firmenich also serves as the chairman of Sentarom SA, the holding company of the Firmenich group of companies. Firmenich International, founded in 1895, is the world’s largest privately-owned flavors and fragrance company with offices in over 50 countries.
He is a native of Geneva, Switzerland, a 1996 graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, a 1994 graduate from Stanford University’s School of Medicine, where he received a PhD in biochemistry under Nobel laureate Dr. Paul Berg, and received a fellowship from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dr. Firmenich is a 1988 alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a Scholastic All-American and winner of the John Asinari Award, and elected to Phi Beta Kappa
and Sigma Xi.
Dr. Firmenich serves on a number of corporate boards, including Nobel Biocare, the world’s largest dental implant and digital dentistry company. He is a passionate supporter of several nonprofit organizations that support children, sustainability, health care, education, and the arts.
Dr. Firmenich and his wife, Christina, reside in Singapore. They have two young daughters, Charlotte and Camille.
