Sandra Horbach is a global partner and managing director at the Carlyle Group, where she serves as the head of the consumer/retail group. The Carlyle Group is a alternative global asset management firm with approximately $100 billion under management. The firm invests in management-led buyouts, strategic minority equity investments, equity private placements, consolidations and buildups, and growth capital financings.

She is involved in all of Carlyle’s consumer investments and currently serves on the boards of directors of the following companies: Dunkin’ Brands, NBTYInc., and CVC. In addition, she serves as a member of the executive committee and board of trustees at Rockefeller University, where she chairs the investment committee, and as a member of the board of trustees of the Chapin
School in New York.

Prior to joining Carlyle in 2005, Ms. Horbach served as a general partner of Forstman Little, a private investment firm. She joined Forstmann Little as an associate in 1987 and became a general partner in 1993. Ms. Horbach spent two yearsin the mergers and acquisition department of Morgan Stanley & Co.

She received her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Wellesley College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Ms. Horbach is married to Steve Skoler (MBA ’86). They have two daughters and reside in New York City.
