Sanjay Mehrotra became president and CEO of SanDisk effective January 2011. He was appointed to the SanDisk board of directors in July 2010. Mr. Mehrotra cofounded SanDisk in 1988 and was appointed president and COO in June 2006. He previously served as EVP and COO, senior vice president of engineering, vice president of product development, and director of memory design and product engineering.

He has more than 30 years of experience in the non-volatile semiconductor memory industry, including engineering and management positions at SanDisk, Integrated Device Technology Inc., SEEQ Technology Inc., Intel Corporation, and Atmel Corporation.

Mr. Mehrotra earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program (SEP).

He holds several patents and has published articles in the area of non-volatile memory design and flash memory systems. Mr. Mehrotra currently serves on the board of directors of Global Semiconductor Alliance, Cavium Networks and the engineering advisory board of the University of California, Berkeley.
