Paul A. Ormond

Paul Ormond is chairman of the board, president and CEO of Manor Care, Inc., the largest owner and operator of long-term care centers in the United States, with a network of more than 500 skilled nursing centers, assisted living facilities, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, hospice and home care agencies, and approximately 60,000 employees.

Mr. Ormond has been president of Manor Care, and its predecessor companies, for over 20 years. He was the founder of the company that is also known as HCR Manor Care, and he led the initial public offering for the company in 1991. Manor Care is part of the S&P 500 index and is traded on the NYSE (NYSE:HCR).

Mr. Ormond is a former member and chairman of the University of Toledo business advisory board. He has been active in a number of charitable organizations, including the Alzheimer's Association, United Way, and various foundations. He also served as a member of the board of a regional public television station.

Mr. Ormond received a BA with honors in economics from Stanford University in 1971 and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1973.

He is a member of the board of directors of National City Corporation and chairman of the compensation committee.

Mr. Ormond and his wife, Sue, Live in Toledo, Ohio. They have two sons.
