Event Facilities

The Knight Management Center and the Schwab Residential Center host many leading conferences, programs, and special events. We offer a range of interior and outdoor spaces to meet your event planning needs. With our professional event planning team, we are committed to making your event a success.

Cemex Auditorium at the Knight Management Center

The Auditorium boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, high-end acoustics, and the latest technology. The 587 seats are arranged in two tiers giving the space a surprisingly intimate feeling. This is a shared resource with the University. University event planners should contact the Office of the University Registrar to request this space. If you need assistance planning an event in CEMEX in conjunction with other Knight Center rooms or exterior spaces, please contact GSB Scheduling. We would be happy to contact the University Registrar on your behalf and to reserve the additional facilities. The use of CEMEX requires a mandatory technology replacement fee of $75 per hour including setup and tear down time. AV technicians are required when using the equipment; for rates please see Stanford's Events Services Group.

Seawell Family Boardroom (Bass Center Room 400)

Executive seating for 50 and breathtaking views from the top floor of the Bass Center make the Seawell Family Boardroom an ideal location for both business meetings and elegant receptions. The room is equipped with a projector and screen which are included in your room usage fee; AV technical support is available at an additional cost.

Oberndorf Event Center (North Building Room 302)

Our newest event facility, the Oberndorf Event Center, can accommodate as many as 300 guests or can be separated into three sections for smaller meetings or events.  Moveable furnishings allow for a vast array of meeting configurations. The room is equipped with two projectors and screens and their use is included in your room usage fee; AV technical support is available at an additional cost. This facility can be confirmed now for the Autumn Quarter or beginning November 1st for Winter Quarter or beginning February 1st for Spring Quarter.

Instructional Spaces (Gunn Building Rooms 101 & 102, Zambrano Room 301)

A few of our classrooms are available for meetings once the academic schedule has been settled each term. Our Gunn building holds two 80-seat tiered classrooms that are perfect for conference breakout spaces or individual business meetings. Above the CEMEX Auditorium, the Zambrano Building contains a large flat classroom that can accommodate up to 100 for a meeting or banquet. All instructional spaces include projectors and screens; AV technical assistance is available at an additional cost. These spaces can be confirmed after the add deadline each quarter.

Community Court

Just outside CEMEX Auditorium and adjacent to the Gunn classrooms, the Community Court is a fantastic outdoor addition to our indoor spaces. The large, open grassy area can be used in conjunction with the auditorium and nearby classrooms for a full-scale conference or alone for an expansive outdoor banquet. With tenting the space can be used year-round.

Town Square

The Town Square is framed by the Arbuckle Dining Pavilion, the Bass Center, and the faculty office buildings. It is an easy-to-find location featuring attractive pavers and small shade trees which provide a beautiful foundation for an outdoor reception or banquet. This space can also be tented and can accommodate groups up to 500.

GSB Bowl

The GSB Bowl is one of our most private outdoor locations. This unique circular space at the far end of the Knight Center complex can be used as an informal amphitheater with seating on the grass or for a formal reception and banquet with up to 250 guests.

Vidalakis Dining Hall at the Schwab Residential Center

High beamed-ceilings and expansive glass doors give the Vidalakis Dining Hall an elegant ambience for your formal event or professional meeting.  The room can be divided into three separate spaces or used in full to accommodate up to 325 people. On-site furnishings allow for a variety of configurations and reduce the overall cost of your event when using the existing furniture. A minimum catering order of $500 per each one-third of the Vidalakis dining room is required in addition to your room usage fee.  We are certain you will be pleased with the offerings of the award-winning cuisine of Executive Chef Raul Lacara. See our catering page for more information.

Palm Courtyard

Located in the center of the Schwab Residential Center, the Palm Courtyard provides a wonderful addition to your social gathering or professional meeting.  It may also be reserved separately for events for up to 400 people. Beautiful sculptures and the signature palm trees adorned the courtyard creating a truly unique location on the Stanford campus for your event.
