The GSB and The Stanford Challenge

Investing in Curricular Innovations:

Transforming the Learning Experience

Make a Gift NowThe Transformation:

The innovative new MBA curriculum encourages students to learn by doing. Classes address critical thinking skills, focus on leadership styles, and each student is required to have some global experience. The School takes advantage of its small size to give students small seminars and opportunities to work in teams.

The Need:

Annie Adams, Class of '08 (featured in front in photo on right), marvels at how the academic program offers "an amazing way to see the world.” Through courses, global study trips, and international internships, students get to know people around the globe; “their individual stories, challenges and problems – and discover new ways that we as business leaders can make a difference,”  says Annie. The courses and the faculty time needed to develop them demands a significant investment of time and money. The cost is high, but the benefits are enormous.

Why Give:

When you invest in the GSB, you help us offer students opportunities to develop a managerial mindset of leadership, entrepreneurship, social impact, and global awareness. “The experiences I had at the School have helped me throughout my career, which is why it is important for me personally to support curricular innovations as well as to encourage my company to invest in future business leaders,” said R. Michael Shanahan, AB ’60, MBA ’65, executive committee chairman of Capital Group Companies.

Impact on the GSB:

Your support of the School is critical, whether to annual and reunion funds, to our centers that develop life-changing programs, faculty funds that power cutting-edge teaching and research, or our new campus that will encourage different approaches to learning and collaboration. The vision of alumni and friends allow us to implement the curricular innovations that generate new ideas, stretch students’ capabilities, and expand their horizons.
