The GSB and The Stanford Challenge

Leverage Your Gifts

Make a Gift NowYou can increase the impact of your support by contributing to key areas that qualify to earn matching dollars. The Business School has created matching funds in support of faculty research and teaching, and in support of programming that enriches the student experience and fosters community engagement. Donors can leverage their giving by contributing to specified priorities that are eligible to earn matching dollars. The following opportunities are currently available. Matching funds may be earned by individual donors only (pooled gifts are not eligible).

Named, Endowed Faculty Funds

Endowed support for faculty provides a permanent legacy from which annual payment from the fund is used to underwrite faculty salaries, research time and expenses, course and case development, and other related activities. With existing endowed professorships generating less income than the full costs associated with the scholars they maintain, increasing faculty support is critical given the intense competition for academic talent. These funds also assist with the professional development of junior faculty members.

Named, endowed faculty funds that are match-eligible may be established at a mimimum level of $500,000 to support the work of GSB faculty members or to provide general support for a specific academic discipline. Donors receive special recognition for establishing such funds and enjoy benefits such as naming the fund, leveraging their support, and creating a legacy which will support generations of GSB scholars.

Matching Fund for the Center for Social Innovation

The Center for Social Innovation is a focal point for integrating the GSB’s research, teaching, and community engagement mission in the area of social innovation. Unrestricted gifts to the CSI are essential in supporting the growth of new curricular and co-curricular programs for students, new course development, faculty teaching and facilitation, research support, coordination of student clubs and activities, and involvement of alumni and the broader community in the Center’s programs. Endowed gifts to CSI provide a permanent legacy from which regular income is used to underwrite these activities undertaken by the Center.

The CSI Morgridge Matching Fund matches expendable gifts of $100,000 and above, and endowed gifts of $250,000 and above, on a 1:1 basis that provide unrestricted support for the CSI and meet certain criteria.
