The One Million Dreams Fund

Hello from your Class of 2008 Development Committee!

The class gift is a tradition at the GSB. It serves to unite our class as we join the ranks of Stanford GSB alumni. Below are the major reasons that graduating classes give each year:

  • To show appreciation for our experience
  • It is an opportunity to come together as a class
  • To signal to future students and alumni of our commitment to the school

This year we have set the ambitious goal of the One Million Dreams Fund.

What is it?

  • A goal to raise $1 million for the GSB over 4 years
  • A 4-year pledge by the members of the Class of 2008 commencing in 2009
  • Funds which will be allocated each year to innovative programming, according to the guidance given by our class, that enhances the student experience and the future direction of the GSB.
  • At the end of each year, the Class of 2008 will receive a letter outlining the exciting initiatives that the One Million Dreams Fund supported.

Why we’re excited about this gift

  • It enables the gift to support the priorities of all classmates (rather than one priority voted on by a minority)
  • It is an opportunity to align our giving with the evolving vision of the school and to ensure the success of the new curriculum
  • By giving this way, our class will benefit from the generosity of the Atwell Match and the Class of 1993 participation challenge, both of which are designated only for gifts of this type, (rather than a specific gift) to more than double the value of our gift.
  • This gift would be the largest gift ever given by a graduating class of the GSB or any of our peer institutions.

As your elected representatives, the Development Committee has worked hard to design a Class Gift that will both unite our class and have the largest possible impact on the GSB and for future GSB students. Thank you in advance for your support. We have created this website as a convenient source of information for you to learn more about our One Million Dreams Fund; however, as there is no substitute for discussion with classmates, and we welcome your inquiries.

Warm regards,
