Outreach
While our programs are designed for Stanford students and alumni, many are open to the community as well. We do not offer programs or services specifically for the community at large and suggest that you refer to the Helpful Links page in the Resources section of our Web or check below to find community based organizations. The CES has sponsored both NFTE and BUILD programs on the GSB campus.
Community Based Organizations
National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Inc. (NFTE)
An international nonprofit organization that introduces teens from inner cities and local communities to the world of business and entrepreneurship by teaching them how to develop and operate their own legitimate small businesses. NFTE hopes to use innovation methods that enable young people to learn the concepts of self-esteem, self-sufficiency, and free-market society through entrepreneurship.
Businesses United in Investing, Lending, and Development (BUILD)
Build was founded in 1999 with the mission of encouraging local high school students to develop their own small businesses and extending the traditional entrepreneurial education far beyond the classroom. We host a BUILD business plan competition on campus each spring.
