Julien Yarker, a skilled leader in executive and business education, has been appointed associate dean of executive education at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
In this role, Yarker will ensure that executive education offerings reflect cutting-edge management thinking, deepen strategic partnerships, and accelerate digital innovation to extend the reach and real-world impact of Stanford GSB’s world-class faculty.
With nearly two decades of experience, Yarker is passionate about executive and business education and is especially invigorated by its potential. “I love working in executive education because it sits at the intersection of academic research, practical learning, and real-world impact,” he says. “We are living through a period of extraordinary change. AI is transforming the way we work, lead, and learn, and the pace of change is accelerating. I believe executive education has an important role to play in helping leaders make sense of these changes, broaden their perspectives, and turn new ideas into action.”
Before joining Stanford GSB, Yarker spent five years at Columbia Business School, where he most recently served as senior associate dean, overseeing the school’s executive education portfolio across open-enrollment, online, and custom programs. Previously, he held leadership roles at INSEAD, living and working in France, Singapore, and the U.S., and at London Business School. Throughout his career, he has worked across executive education, marketing, business development, sales, digital strategy, and customer experience.
“Julien is a deeply collaborative executive who knows how to inspire teams and build strong bridges with faculty,” says Wes Hartmann, the John G. McCoy-Banc One Corporation Professor of Marketing and senior associate dean for academic affairs. “We are delighted to have his experience, energy, and vision driving the next chapter of executive education at Stanford GSB.”
Raised in the Bordeaux region of France and having lived around the world as an adult, Yarker is excited to design programs for today’s global leaders. “Stanford GSB brings together an exceptional academic community, a spirit of innovation, and an extraordinary connection to the people and ideas shaping the future of business,” he says. “I am looking forward to being part of that community and contributing to the next chapter of executive education at Stanford.”
