Required Materials

In order to determine an applicant's eligibility, the following documents must be submitted to the GSB Financial Aid Office:

Completed Loan Forgiveness Program Application (annually)

International Loan Forgiveness Application

Tax Return/Statement

A copy of your most recent U.S. Federal Tax Return (1040),including all schedules and W-2 forms, or a foreign equivalent. If submitting a foreign tax statement, provide copies of most recent tax statement from any and all countries in which you filed. Include an index of the current exchange rate. If you filed a U.S. 1040 NR form, please provide a copy of this as well. If you did not file a tax statement in any country, please send a letter of explanation. If the tax statement is not in English, a personal translation of the pertinent income and tax sections should be provided.

Spouse’s Tax Return/Statement

If married and filing separately, copies of your spouse's most recent tax return, including all schedules and W-2 forms or foreign equivalent as detailed above.

Proof of Employment & Wages

Proof of your employment and salary, such as an offer letter, a recent pay stub, or description of compensation for entrepreneurial venture (e.g. percentage of ownership, loans from shareholders, etc.).

Proof of Spouse’s Employment & Wages

If married to an employed spouse, proof of your spouse's employment and salary, such as
an offer letter or a recent pay stub.

Mission & Scope of Activities

Materials issued from your employer describing its mission and scope of activities, or a letter from your employer with the same information. If your employer is an approved local or national government, your may provide a statement of your job functions instead.

Starting an Entrepreneurial Venture

If you are starting an entrepreneurial venture, then you must submit a copy of your business plan, financial projections, capitalization strategy, and cash flow statements.

Verification of Loans

Verification of outstanding loan debt from lenders or services: required monthly repayment, outstanding loan balance, and history of previous loan payments. If spouse has outstanding educational loans, verification of their loan debt is also needed.  Please refer to the Sample Loan Summary.

Essay Component

You will be asked to write a brief essay addressing the following possible questions:

  1. How do you see your career eveloping in this qualifying country?
  2. How do you plan to use your GSB education during your employment in the qualifying country?
  3. How does your employment in the ualifying country contribute to its economy?

Your typed response should be attached to your application materials.  The response should be no more than three pages in length.

If any materials, such as foreign tax statement or employer's mission and scope of activities, are not in English, a personal translation of the pertinent information should be provided.
