Jamie Schein, MBA ’91, has been named assistant dean and director of the Career Management Center at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

In her new role, Schein will oversee and direct the CMC, which has a team of student-facing, employer-facing, and program-support staff to help students develop meaningful careers. The center also has more than 25 alumni career programs.

Since 2013, Schein has served as director of strategy and curricular support at Stanford GSB, working with students, faculty, and staff to manage co-curricular programming and support students in their academic journeys. Her past focus on understanding and enriching the student experience will provide crucial insight as she now transitions to helping students discover and excel at their post-graduate careers.

Prior to working at Stanford, Schein held management positions at several technology companies, including chief marketing officer at Model N, Inc. She also led the Las Lomitas Education Foundation, served on the governing board of the public Las Lomitas Elementary School District, and founded a small business.

“Jamie’s deep and varied professional history gives her a strong foundation to lead the CMC in the coming years,” said Jonathan Levin, the Philip H. Knight Professor and Dean of Stanford GSB. “Her collaborative spirit will be important to working across the school and with external partners in this dynamic environment for career management and advising services.”

Schein looks forward to mining the landscape of career opportunities and partnering with students to see where those opportunities align with their goals and values.

“The CMC serves a critical role in establishing a partnership with GSB students as they progress through their education and develop and solidify a vision for their job and career,” Schein said. “I hope to help build a strong connection between students’ coursework and career planning, as it can enhance career advising and career education at the CMC.”

Schein received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University in 1985. She has two adult daughters and resides in Menlo Park with her husband, Peter, BA ’83. She will start her new role on June 17.
