Michal Michlin-Friedlander works with Professor Steve Callander at the Policy and Innovation Initiative, focusing a lens on issues and trends at the intersection of policy, law, and innovation. She is creating a comprehensive knowledge base of research and additional data to better understand the crucial impact that law and policy have in the interplay with business fundamentals and innovation. She is also working to advance interdisciplinary collaboration and to bring together key players in this arena.
Michal is an accomplished attorney and a policy expert. In Israel, she led litigation for the Department of Justice before the Supreme Court and advised ministers, legislative committees, regulatory bodies, and enforcement agencies on legal issues and public policy. Michal was a member of Israel’s delegation to the United Nations Universal Periodic Review in Geneva. She was also a director of academic affairs at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2014–15, Michal was a policy and regulatory consultant to a San Francisco-based sharing-economy startup, helping create local and global regulatory compliance strategy.
