IDDEAS 2019 Participants and Faculty

Introduction to Diversity in Doctoral Education and Scholarship

IDDEAS@Stanford is a free two-day immersion program designed to introduce promising undergraduate students to doctoral studies and business research. The program is scheduled for May 2-3, 2024, and will be in-person at the Stanford GSB campus. Our application is now closed.

This program seeks to attract outstanding undergraduate students from varied backgrounds and experiences who bring new perspectives, and introduce them to business research at the doctoral level.  The goal of this program is to support and encourage student and faculty diversity in business schools.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about doctoral-level research.
  • Gain advice about graduate school opportunities and insights on the application process.
  • Discuss academic careers in research and teaching.

Ideal candidates for IDDEAS Scholars are current college sophomores, juniors, or seniors with strong quantitative skills and academic records. Candidates must provide a strong academic recommendation from an advisor or faculty member knowledgeable about their experience or interest in research and/or teaching. We encourage all interested applicants to apply.

Selections will be made in conformance with the principles as set forth in the Supreme Court’s June 2023 decision on affirmative action.

Diverse Applications

Because of its strong belief in the value of diversity (broadly defined) in the pursuit of its educational mission, Stanford GSB strongly encourages applications from those whose backgrounds and experience would bring additional dimensions to the educational experience.
