Stanford GSB PhD Students

A wide range of library services is available to all Stanford GSB PhD students, including research consultation, research workshops, borrowing learning materials, and more.

Borrow, Renew, Return

Check out physical library materials, like books and magazines. If you can’t find what you need on campus, submit an Interlibrary Loan request so we can get it from another library.

Equipment Checkout

We have phone and laptop chargers, headphones, various cables, projectors, audio recorders, cameras, and even some games.

Course Reserves

We can set aside materials in advance for students enrolling in your courses. When you request in advance with detailed information, we can process your reserve material by the beginning of the quarter.

Consultations

We can meet with you to discuss your research where we can offer suggested resources and connect you with other relevant services on campus.

Interlibrary Loan

Can’t find the book or journal you need on campus? The library provides an interlibrary borrowing service to support the learning and research of Stanford GSB students. Submit a request and you will be notified by email when your material is available. (Other Stanford students should contact Green Library for interlibrary services.)

Publishing and Research Sharing Services

Our librarians can help you maximize the reach and impact of your work and support you in understanding your rights to use, share, and preserve your work.

  • ORCID iD Help - We can help you register for an ORCID iD, set up your ORCID record, and integrate it with other systems.
  • Posting Working Papers Guidance - Upload your working papers to an external repository like SSRN for wide-reach and long-term access.
  • Author Rights & Copyright Review - Ask us about your rights as an author, retaining copyright to your work, and Open Access publishing options.
  • Depositing Your Work - We can advise on where to deposit and share your work to make your work more accessible and discoverable.

Bibliography Management Tools

The Libraries provide a variety of citation management tools. These tools help you manage your research references, create bibliographies in multiple citation formats, and offer add-ins for Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
