All applicants are required to submit GRE test scores, regardless of previous experience and/or degrees. The GRE At Home exam will be accepted.
GRE scores are valid for approximately five years from the date taken.
For Fall 2027, we will accept GRE scores from exams taken from December 1, 2021 to December 1, 2026. Applicants are required to submit scores from all GRE test administrations within the above date range.
Submitting GRE Scores
Please submit your complete history of GRE test scores taken between December 1, 2021 to December 1, 2026. Do not enter “superscores” (a combined score that includes the highest section scores from multiple test dates). All GRE scores are subject to admission review.
We require both the self-reported and official GRE test scores. If you take the GRE exam closer to the application closing date, you can self-report your scores on the application, and we will use those scores while awaiting your official scores.
Self-Reported Scores
To self-report, list all GRE tests you took from December 1, 2021 to December 1, 2026 in your application. Do not enter “superscores” (a combined score that includes the highest section scores from multiple test dates).
Self-reported scores on the application are considered unofficial but they are sufficient for the initial application review process while we await your official scores.
Official Scores
Official test scores should be sent to Stanford GSB using Stanford’s ETS institutional code 4704. Individual department code numbers are not necessary. As long as you select the institutional code of 4704, your score(s) will be electronically delivered to Stanford GSB.
