Seung Joo Yoo

Hello! I’m Seung Joo, a first-year PhD student in Micro Organizational Behavior at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

I study the psychology of men and masculinities in organizations. Specifically, I examine how men experience and express their femininity (e.g., communality), and the consequences of these deviations from masculine norms in professional settings. I also investigate the fundamental social categorization processes underlying these phenomena, and use this cognitive lens to understand bias in Large Language Models (LLMs) used at work.

Methodologically, I integrate computational tools (e.g., NLP, LLMs) with traditional approaches (e.g., field surveys, experiments) to investigate these topics across individuals, teams, and organizations.
