All applicants must submit a valid GMAT or GRE score.
Further, applicants whose college or university taught some of their undergraduate courses (other than foreign language classes) in a language other than English must take an English language proficiency test unless they subsequently completed a graduate program taught exclusively in English.
Stanford GSB accepts the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), the PTE (Pearson Test of English Academic), or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are accepting test scores for the official online versions of the GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, and IELTS until further notice. We do not accept the online version of the PTE exam at this time. You should not feel compelled to take an in-person exam if it poses any risk to your health and safety. We recognize that online exams are not offered currently in every region or to every population. We will accept your score until its expiration date: Online GMAT and GRE test scores are valid for five years from the date you take the test and online TOEFL and IELTS Indicator scores are valid for two years.
