BOLD Fellows Fund

Stanford Graduate School of Business is a place where anything and everything is possible. It’s where the boundaries of knowledge are pushed beyond what’s imaginable - where diverse ideas and perspectives aren’t just accepted, they’re encouraged and embraced.

The mission of the Building Opportunities for Leadership Diversity Fellows Fund is to further Stanford University’s commitment to diversity and inclusion by augmenting Stanford GSB’s financial aid for MBA students with financial hardship and a commitment to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Stanford GSB defines diversity in the broadest possible terms, including professional background, personal experience, goals, culture, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and nationality. Individuals may identify across multiple communities, and these perspectives come together to enrich our educational environment and our everyday experience.

Criteria and Eligibility

The BOLD Fellows Fund supports students with financial hardship and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

In addition to demonstrating financial need, a number of factors will be considered in selecting recipients of BOLD Fellows Fund awards. Examples of factors may include, but are not limited to:

  • Being a member of a low-income household and/or facing socioeconomic disadvantage due to intergenerational wealth disparities
  • Providing financial support to parents, parental figures, or other family members during and post-MBA Program
  • Demonstrating a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion

Awards & Application

The BOLD Fellows Fund awards will be up to approximately $15,000 per fellow per year or around $30,000 per fellow’s two-year MBA program.

To apply, you must first be admitted to the Stanford MBA Program. Admitted students then must complete the financial aid application process and a supplemental BOLD Fellows Fund application. BOLD Fellows must qualify for need-based financial aid.

The supplemental BOLD Fellows fund application requires you to provide parent and family information and includes two essay prompts.
